Russian antitrust launches case against buyer of 50% in SG-Trans
MOSCOW, Jun 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has launched a case against Vektor Rail due to a lack of necessary documents in a request to buy a 50% stake in rail operator SG-Trans filed in October 2015, the service said in a statement late on Wednesday.
Multi-industry holding AFK Sistema owns SG-Trans on a parity basis with Unirail, controlled by businessmen Alexei Taicher, and Timur and Ruslan Babayev. In 2015, Unirail sold its 50% to Vektor rail of Taicher and the Babayevs.
But Vektor Rail did not provide all necessary documents with its request in October 2015, and is now liable for a fine of 300,000–500,000 rubles, the service said.
In late May, Bashneft-Trans, part of SG-Trans, filed a request to buy 50% in the parent company. In March, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, the core owner of Sistema, said that Sistema had found a buyer for its 50% in SG-Trans.
